Soul Deep

For those of you lucky enough to be resident in the UK or pick up BBC 2,then Saturday May 7th at 8.25 pm sees the start of a 6 part documentary called Soul Deep: the story of black popular music. I am setting the video recorder for that one as I know the BBC won't be putting it out on DVD, so I am also hoping that someone will have it up on bit torrents sometime soon.
It's hard to look at American Black music and totally ignore the social and political aspects of the USA and their impact on Black Americans, so I am hoping that this will come out in the documentary, so I'll wait and see. I do not expect to see or hear Joss Stone or George Michael or any of their music. You can find all the info on the series here and there's even a competition whereby you can win the complete collection of Motown chartbusters 1-12 (groan).
